Stig of the Dump
29 Year old, Steven Dixon, who records as Stig of the Dump, is a major established player on the independent, domestic and international hip hop scene.
His now legendary mauling of ex So Solid front man, Asher D, reached over a quarter of a million views on youtube in the first 6 weeks. Stig made his transition to recording artist with his debut EP ‘The Homeless Microphonist’. Since its release Stig has gained a reputation as one of the most explosive live performers around today, rocking crowds of 200 to 20,000 at shows and festivals from the UK to France, Bulgaria to the Czech Republic, Norway to Croatia and New York to Paris.
He has also become the first End Of The Weak World Champion, a multilingual competition involving the most comprehensive test of all aspects of being an MC. After being flown to the New York he competed against rappers from all over the globe to take home the title from the birthplace of Hip Hop to the UK.
Cited by none other than Robbie Williams as being “Amazing,” Stig is currently putting the finishing touches to his debut LP, ‘Mood Swings: The Paranoid Schitzophonic’.
His own experience of school was less than edifying. “During my school years I was considered a trouble maker. Being written off by many teachers as just another bad kid, predicted D's to F's across the board for my exam results and always kept at the front of the class so the teacher could keep an eye on me. There was one teacher, however, who always channeled my energies, excitability and desire for attention into creative outlets.”
Stig specializes in getting though to hard to reach kids, and his work is of particular value in PRUs or tougher inner city environments.
